Zed (Black) and Oh (Cera) are hunter gathers who have been banished from their community.  Zed decides to explore the world around him, with reluctant sidekick Oh.  Zed runs into Cain (David Cross) as he kills Abel.  (Paul Rudd) After metting Abraham (Hank Azaria) and Issac (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), and stopping Issac’s sacrifice to God, Issac takes Zed and Oh to Sodom, where they meet Maya (June Raphael) and Eema (Juno Temple) women from their village, who had rejected them earlier but who are now slaves of the Sodomites.  Can Zed and Oh save Maya and Eema from the Sodomites, or does Zed have his eye on the beautiful Sodomite Princess Inanna?(Wide)

This movie is a torturously long series on inanities, based largely on bathroom humor and 5th grade anti-gay humor. The writer (Ramis) makes a mockery of history, starting out in prehistoric times with early hunter gatherer, which is clearly prehistoric man and  suddenly, inexplicably, jumping to Biblical times, and let’ throw a few Romans in for good measure.  What’s more Ramis seems to be mocking Biblical traditions like circumcision and monotheism, by constantly referring to “Gods” If you’re going to satirize the Bible at least do it in intelligent way.  Mel Brooks is the only guy who can mock the Bible and make it funny, others shouldn’t try.Jack Black has basically made one good movie, School of Rock, the rest have been mediocre at best.  He plays the same role over and over again, lovable loser who has to prove himself worthy, by completing some task.  Michael Cera plays the same role over and over again, non-masculine loquacious nerd, in love with some unattainable girl.  I say to the both of them, play something outside your comfort zone, challenge yourself and see what happens.  In the meanwhile Harold Ramis, stop writing, just stop. Ghost Busters and Stripes were the funniest movies Ramis wrote, Judd Apatow, stop producing drivel like this before you lose any credibility you have left.  This movie dragged on for ions, and it was only 1 1/2 hours long.

Year One:  Felt like a lost year of my life.
