The Foo Fighters take their live show to Austin, Texas for a live concert for the tv show Austin City Limits.

Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters do classics like “Best of You” and “Rope” and new songs like “Congregation” and “God As My Witness” from the “Sonic Highways” cd.  Dave Grohl is a maximum effort performer live, he always goes full out in every live performance I’ve ever seen him play.  GrohI  even let out a few of his legendary screams.  He has one of the best screams in rock music.  I was a little taken aback by the lethargy in the crowd, some people weren’t even standing during the concert.

Grohl tried to goose the audience into a more enthusiastic response, but even when he brought out blues prodigy Gary Clark Jr. to do “God As My Witness” or Texas legend Jimmy Vaughn the crowd response was anemic.  If you don’t like alternative rock, don’t go to the show.  I love the Foo Fighters, so I will take advantage of any opportunity to watch them, especially live.  Even if you don’t like the music, you have to admire the group’s staying power.  They are one of the last rock bands standing in a musical world inundated by pop stars.  Rock on Dave Grohl!
